Islamic Studies Curriculum

Learning Journey

At Darul Ilm, we follow the highly respected Safar Publications Islamic Studies Curriculum, providing children with a structured and progressive Islamic education that develops their knowledge, understanding and love of Islam over a number of years. Each curriculum builds upon the knowledge gained in the previous one, allowing students to gradually deepen their understanding as they mature.

What our students learn: 

Our curriculum provides a balanced Islamic education, covering all the essential areas of a young Muslim's development, including:

  • Aqidah (Islamic Belief): 

    عقِيدة

    Learning about Allah, His Beautiful Names and Attributes, the Articles of Faith, the Prophets, Angels, Divine Books, the Hereafter, Paradise and Hell.

  • Fiqh (Islamic Practice):

    فقه

    Wudu, Ghusl, Tayammum, Salah, Fasting, Zakah, Hajj, Janazah, purification and other everyday rulings.

  • سيرة

    Seerah (Life of the Prophet ﷺ):

    Studying the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from his birth to his final days, alongside the major events that shaped early Islam.

  • Stories of the Prophets:

    قصص الانبياء

    Learning valuable lessons through the lives of the Prophets, from Nabi Adam (عليه السلام) to Nabi Sulayman (عليه السلام) and many others.

  • Adab & Character:

    اداب

    Developing excellent manners, kindness, honesty, respect for parents and teachers, responsibility, and Islamic etiquette in daily life.

  • Muslim Identity:

    Helping children understand who they are as Muslims, strengthening their confidence and preparing them to navigate the challenges of modern society with Islamic values.

  • Love of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ:

    Building a strong relationship with Allah through understanding His Names and Attributes, while nurturing a sincere love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his Sunnah.

To bring every topic to life, our teachers use a range of carefully designed learning resources.

Interactive Presentation Slides:

Every lesson is supported by professionally designed presentation slides created by Darul Ilm, helping children understand concepts through visuals, discussion and classroom interaction.

Safar Student Workbooks:

Students reinforce their learning through written activities, revision exercises and practical application found within the official Safar workbooks.

Journey to Jannah Platform:

We enhance classroom learning using the Journey to Jannah digital platform, which provides engaging videos, interactive activities and additional resources to strengthen understanding both inside and outside the classroom.

Our Aim: 

Our goal is not simply for children to memorise information, but to develop a deep understanding of Islam that shapes their belief, worship and character.

By the time students complete our Islamic Studies programme, we aspire for them to have a strong foundation in Islamic knowledge, confidence in practising their faith, and a genuine love for Allah, His Messenger ﷺ and the beautiful teachings of Islam.
