Our teachers are at the heart of Darul Ilm. We look for individuals who share our commitment to providing children with an excellent Islamic education in a caring, engaging and professional environment.

We believe great teachers are developed as well as recruited, and we are committed to supporting our staff to continually grow.

Entry Requirements:

Our Prospective teachers should:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Have a good standard of spoken and written English.

  • Demonstrate maturity, reliability and professionalism.

  • Be willing to follow Darul Ilm's curriculum, policies and teaching approach.

  • Be committed to ongoing training and development.

Previous teaching experience is beneficial but not essential for individuals with the right qualities and willingness to develop.

Knowledge Requirements:

Islamic Studies teachers should have a sound understanding of fundamental Islamic beliefs, worship, Seerah, manners and the core areas covered within our curriculum.

Qur'an teachers should be able to read the Qur'an confidently and accurately with appropriate Tajweed and pronunciation.

Our curriculum, resources and training further support teachers in developing their knowledge and delivering effective lessons.

All teaching staff are required to undergo the appropriate DBS checks and safeguarding training before working with children.

Teachers must follow Darul Ilm's safeguarding procedures and help maintain a safe, respectful and supportive environment for every student.

We encourage every Darul Ilm teacher to strive for Ihsan – excellence in the responsibility of educating the next generation.
